Development and Delivery Through its projects function, the Tahoe Transportation District (TTD) provides:
- regional coordination and value-added development support for transportation projects identified by the TTD
- additional implementation capacity for Tahoe Basin transportation projects
- dedicated resources to oversee the program
The TTD coordinates with Tahoe Metropolitan Planning Organization (TMPO) staff to ensure timely project delivery and appropriate use of funds.
Projects in Planning Project development for five transportation initiatives, currently in planning or under consideration, will be funded by the 1/2% of the annual budget allowed for the planning process, as well as adminstering it, through the environmental documentation phase. These transporation initiatives include:
- America's Most Beautiful Bikeway - encircling the lake for cyclists and pedestrians
- Incline Gateway - intersection safety and traffic flow improvement
- Lake Tahoe Aquabus (under consideration) - translake passenger ferry
- US 50/South Shore Community Revitalization Project (under consideration) - commercial core traffic flow and pedestrian access improvements, facilitating community revitalization
- SR 89/Fanny Bridge Community Revitalization Project (under consideration) - traffic safety and congestion improvements and historic bridge preservation

Performance Evaluation Transit monitoring is
one method the TTD uses to track and evaluate route and service
performance. Service planning decisions are based on a combination of
goals and performance criteria. Interested in what kind of data is collected on the transit
services in the Tahoe Basin? Check the report on our Transit Monitoring page.
