Transportation Open House Sees Impressive Turnout

The Tahoe Transportation District partnered with several federal, state, county, sustainability and engineering agencies to host open house events on the North and South Shore in January, both of which resulted in impressive attendance.

Local community members and business owners attending the open houses were greeted by transportation and infrastructure officials presenting ongoing and upcoming projects impacting the Tahoe Basin. Event co-hosts included: BlueGo, Caltrans, California Tahoe Conservancy, City of South Lake Tahoe, Douglas County, El Dorado County, HDR, Tahoe Metropolitan Planning Organization, Tahoe Regional Planning Agency, United States Forest Service and Wood Rogers.

Among key topics presented at the event were the Lake Tahoe Bikeway project, Highway 50 construction slated for May 2011, the Stateline – US 50 Transit Loop (South Shore) and the Fannie Bridge Byway Preservation (North Shore).
