BlueGo offers free rides for the Holidays

Weekend warriors, visitors in town for the SnowGlobe Music Festival and curious South Shore locals are invited to climb aboard a BlueGo bus and take as many free rides as you want on two main routes from Saturday, Dec. 22 through Jan. 6, 2013.

Catch a free ride on BlueGo over the holidays.

With dozens of stops along Routes 50 and 53, there’s no need to drive in circles looking for parking spaces and then have to schlep across the ice to get to where you’re going.

Hitch a ride from your cabin or hotel resort to the ski slopes, head to the Heavenly Village or to the “Y” area for shopping, drinks and dining, BlueGo bus drivers will drop you, your friends and family at your desired destination and then be there for your safe return. The service not only reduces the carbon footprint by taking vehicles off the road, it is a great way to meet fellow riders and skiers and swap favorite local hotspots to stop and visit.

You can share your experience on the Tahoe Transportation District’s Facebook page.

South Lake Tahoe’s coordinated transit system includes South Shore fixed-route service, the seasonal Nifty 50 Trolley, seasonal ski shuttles and commuter bus service to Carson City and the Carson Valley. The Tahoe Transportation District also provides ADA paratransit and on-demand service within the City of South Lake Tahoe, northern El Dorado County and western Douglas County.
